Windows only: Windows' built-in Aero Snap is pretty neat, but limited to simple left-right-full window-sizing options. Window Manager provides a customizable grid that lets you pick where and how large your desktop windows get resized.

It's similar in some ways to WinSplit Revolution, but Window Manager uses a grid layout rather than directional arrows to move windows around and size them. If you've got a large enough screen, or dual monitor layout, that you can imagine nine different positions for open windows, Window Manager can accomodate you. The app sits in your system tray waiting for your click; when you do click with a window selected, you get the grid, plus options to center a window.

Window Manager is a free download for Windows systems only. It requires the .NET 4.0 framework, and one other Lifehacker tester found it somewhat picky in recognizing such an installation.

Windows 7: Everybody knows that you can right-click any application to launch it as administrator, but what you might not know is there's an even quicker way you can trigger administrator mode.

The Guiding Tech blog points out that you can simply hold the Ctrl and Shift keys while double-clicking on any shortcut or application to launch it as administrator. We've pointed out this trick before in our power user's guide to the Windows 7 taskbar since you can use this trick for pinned applications or taskbar buttons—but it should actually work anywhere in the Windows shell. Of course, you'll still be prompted to click through a permission prompt, but you can always disable UAC if you find it too annoying.

How to use Windows 7 Compatibility Mode

Most of the people are looking Windows 7 as the operating system of this millennium. With the fabulous desktop, ability to upload the complete series of device driver for Vista and network security the new business generation is waiting with their breathe hold.

Hardware configuration:
The high demanding configuration and poor driver support of Windows 7 are some of the hurdles in the feasibility. Hard drive of 20 GB and 1 GHZ processor as we know is the minimum. Obviously any business is related to the capital and so much demanding configuration will put some extra burden on their budget. Also the complexity of the operating system is causing slower boot of the system.

But limitation are everywhere. Let’s go into the positive aspects:
What we need in a Business, Simplicity in operating, privacy of our data and adapatability with different software. All these features are meeting the expectation of the user.

Touch-Screen:
Now use your finger for working on computer give up the mouse. With Windows 7 and a touch – sensitive screen, you can browse online newspaper, flick through photo albums and shuffle files and folders. We are using the touchscreen tecnology for years, but Windows 7 extends it to every corner of your PC. The Start menu and taskbar now sport larger, fingertip-friendly icons. Familiar Windows 7 programs are also touch-ready. You can even finger paint in Paint! Windows Touch—available only in the Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate editions of Windows 7. Need to zoom in on a picture? Pinch your fingers together. Want to right-click on something? Touch it with one finger and tap the screen with a second on the screen.

As per the networks security is concern Windows 7, can apply a separate firewall profile to different network connection. Which is dynamic in function. There are some quite specific tools which can provide extraordinary security, mention below:

BitLocker :
It caps your data from hackers or theft. How can you help protect your data from loss, theft, or hackers? The answer: BitLocker. BitLocker keep a security lock on your documents, it keep everything in encrypted form on external drive . You are even safe if you have misplaced your portable storage devices like USB flash drives and external drives.Direct Access: In the corporate world lots of energy is spend on building Virtual private networks, now Windows 7 brings the Direct Access to save your time and energy. It commits secure connection to remote client without dealing with VPNs. This is an quite innovative gift to mobile user and sufficient reason for switching to Windows 7.

AppLocker:
Now corporate has a good management over thier software. It will inhibit any unauthorized access to any program. Ordinary users will not be able to install new programs however they can run it. It organization can keep a track on their user if they are involved in malpractice such as playing with settings designed for Internet Explorer. AppLocker addresses this problem and lets IT centrally configure who can run which application. AppLocker checks each program against corporate policies when a user tries to start it. Though it can be difficult to implement in a large organization, IT can get some immediate benefits by rolling AppLocker out to highly managed workstations.

User Account Control:
In Windows 7, you can turn on User Account Control (UAC) without it displaying warnings for programs you started. This means no more screen-dimming each time you start the Microsoft Management Console — but you’re still alerted if a Web page tries to change system settings or install unauthorized programs. If you disabled UAC in Vista, do yourself a favor and turn it on again once you’ve moved to Windows 7.

Compatibility Mode:
Most of us face problems in Transition period. Because the earlier programs find it difficult to be suited with the new operating system. In such situation don’t lose your temper and make use of “Compatibility Mode” to run that particular software. This is easy to apply.

Along with the growth of the organization, expand the network of computer attention must be important. As counting, which began using the Internet Protocol (IP) that has been there? Many organizations use NAT to increase the number of IP address is closed. However, the application requires better control, in addition to its ability to support applications that are still new. While organizations want to offer additional services in the network, such as IPSec, which still must consider the quality and processing capacity. Windows 7 support the development of the IPv6 network and hardware that can be trusted.

In response to the limited IP (Internet Protocol) version of IPv4, many government agencies, ISPs (Internet Service Provider) and a variety of companies that use technology to support the creation of companies to change the use of IPv6 . Microsoft Windows 7 Support both version. However, IPv6 is the standard main Windows 7, without going through the configuration manager. In addition, Microsoft Windows7 also supports PPPv6, which allows remote access is done by the user. This is one of the advantages of IPv6 technology. Internet Protocol Version 6 provides benefits to users include:

1. Address Assignment broader. The supply of 128-bit addresses that can be used more widely as a support and higher expected number of Internet users in the future.

2. Address of providing a more efficient manner. Degnan header is simpler, and supports to address the hierarchy. IPv6 traffic can make the data more quickly than before.

3. The ease of configuration. IPv6 can be configured Deang support DHCPv6 server or through a local server to get a static address.

4. Sophisticated security. IPV6 better guarantee the safety of the infiltration of the address and port and make the network traffic.

IPv4 and IPv6 still support TCP / IP Stack. Applications running on IPv4 will still be able to function as expected. Windows 7 implement socket functions that can work in both. Even more preferably for IPv6. All this can be fixed by the administrator. To facilitate the migration to IPv6, Microsoft Windows7 to use Treed IPv6 transition technology that is behind the NAT.

The servers are complex machines - orders of magnitude more complex than PCs that run on our homes. Besides the equipment, much of the complexity of a server arises from the interaction of the software. So when you see, including companies like Google that displays error messages, you know something is wrong with the way your software is created.

Due to the heavy burden the servers of the experience, the events that have a minuscule chance of occurring in any given point occur frequently. We are using. What can you do though, is learning to deal with errors quickly so that the IIS server does not crash.

To this end, IIS 7 comes with sophisticated error tracking tools that allow you to get to the heart of the problem, allowing you to fix it. What are the common causes of these errors? Here are a few.

Application changes

A new update or correction to an existing application can have unexpected effects on the functioning of even the independent software vendors. Thus, server administrators are paid so much. They know exactly what they're doing and understand the inner bowels of a server.

The server configuration changes

IIS 7 has a lot of options and configurations. Sometimes it may be forced to make a change that has unexpected ramifications, making requests to fail.

Why the error pages are not enough

When a Web application fails, it can get very detailed error pages that sometimes lead to problems are fixed quickly. However, when the error is caused by the interaction of modules, error pages are simply not adequate or are misleading. What can happen is that an error may occur and go undetected for some time and when it appears, is hiding the real reason. Debugging is an art, but with the right tools, can be done much faster. And this is where IIS 7 tracing comes into play.

IIS 7 Tracing

IIS 7 has sophisticated search tools that allow administrators to see the work processes and their requests in real time. The new feature is called tracking error of applications and is one of the features of IIS 7. It is fully configurable and can be used to track the requests based on certain parameters that are set by the administrator.

For example, you can configure and manage an IIS 7 and warning that if an application has more than x seconds to complete, then carefully monitoring initiative, which allows administrators to fix the problem. This command can also be used to adjust and learn where the server is running slow.

If you are using IIS 7 as a server in any environment, including a VPS, you can use the trace, along with remote management features of IIS 7 in order to effectively manage your server.
